Here's another fun interactive website for learning Chinese for young children.

You need to create a free account and you/ your child can play to learn. You can upgrade to a paid version later if you like it.

It is designed to be a learning program for pre-schoolers till Pri 1 (China standard). You can select a level that is suitable for your child and number of words to learn each day.

There are several stations to go through, starting from 花果山 at the bottom right corner everyday. 

Children get to read the famous Chinese deification story - 西游记, and at the same time, learn Chinese words through the interactive activities that are included in between the story.

Another interesting Chinese iPhone app

Found this interesting iPhone app called 虫虫世界 that I'll like to share with you. It is an useful app for children to learn Chinese. There are several versions, so you need to download them one by one.

This app teaches word recognition by showing the word (and pronunciation) and an animated representation of the meaning of the word. It also shows the strokes and their order  (笔画笔顺). After learning the strokes order, your child can practise writing by placing a little creature at the beginning of the right strokes (in the right sequence) for it to eat the strokes.

Included is a memory card game on the words learnt and a colouring exercise.

Interesting Chinese iPhone app

I found this interesting iPhone app.  It's called "Chinese 字宝宝for Primary Students".  Free sample lessons are available. Need to pay to get all the lessons of each book.

Based on the Singapore P1 to P6 syllabuses, it consists of lessons 一上, 一下 and so on. There's flashcards, matching and memory games. It can also show the children how to write the word (笔画笔顺).

p.s. I don't know the creator of this app. Just thought it's a good app to share with everyone.

Here's another Chinese website you can introduce to your kids. It is designed to provide  learning resources for overseas Chinese learners (ie. Chinese not in China). A lot of kids are quite computer savvy nowadays. I think they can easily navigate through this website and find some interesting things in it.

The first tab with the panda is for hanyu pinyin learning. Second tab consists of short stories, bedtime stories (longer) and poems. You can find a page on reading cards in the third tab.
